The Ballad of the Bardbarian (How I Became a Therapist in Another World book 8)
Reborn through the power of music
Henry Rocksmasher, self-proclaimed barbarian, is done with adventuring. When one of his party mates retires, Henry follows a new dream: trying out for the Bards’ College, even though he’s more used to knocking heads than weaving melodies. He already had to start over when he came to this world from Earth; is there room at the Bards’ College for an adventurer to make another new start?
Meanwhile, his remaining teammate isn’t ready to give up the questing life, or to lose control of Henry. The demons that haunt this world can sense when insecurity slides toward something darker, but Henry can’t abandon his old friend — right?
The Ballad of the Bardbarian is a short novel of reinvention, music, academia and friendship, set in a queernorm fantasy world. It features a himbo cinnamon roll, the conflicted drama queen who can’t let him go, a colorful cast of aspiring bards, and a little gay pining. Takes place after Starting Over in Another World with My Level 99 Self-Doubt, and stands alone without it.
