I’m beyond excited to be at my first in-person book event. (Or if it’s Friday, setting up my first in-person book event and then having to run away for another commitment, but that’s a whole other story. Say hi to my sister, who’s filling in for me.)

The Healers Series / The Strangers’ Sanctuary
The Healers is my first series, about a magical healer and a nonmagical army medic who embed with a traveling merchant band and learn to see past their differences.
Peripheral romance in the first book, not between the leads; by the third, things are Complicated(TM) and the story is partly about “what do we even mean by ‘romance’ anyway?” Fantasy with grounded, energy-based magic (healing, earth magic; water magic exists but doesn’t come up much). No fantastical creatures; humans all the way down.
A spinoff / prequel to The Healers, set four years prior with a different cast of characters. Two former classmates, an unbelieving priest and a shrine guard with deep emotional damage, are assigned to revive a shuttered shrine in a small town. Emotional healing and growth, but also dragging the leads through a bit of hell to get there. Catharsis time!
B-plot romance with one of the leads and a resident of the town (m/m). Fantasy with grounded, energy-based magic (healing, earth magic, water magic; both leads are non-practitioners). No fantastical creatures; humans all the way down.
How I Became a Therapist in Another World
An isekai / reincarnation fantasy series of novellas in which a queer 30-something therapist finds herself reborn in another world where people’s mental health challenges manifest as literal demons. Some humor, some seriousness, some affectionate questioning of common tropes of the subgenre. Omnibus 1 covers the opening arc; Omnibuses 2 and 3 feature a rotating cast of narrators telling their own stories in this world. Each volume includes 3-4 novellas.
B-plot romance (f/f) through the first 4 novellas; a mixture of no romance, m/m and f/f for the rest of the series, mostly as B-plots. (I refuse to pick a lane.) Magic powers of such a wide variety that it resists sense-making, even in-universe; dragons that represent the collective magic of a particular habitat; magical manifestations of mental health challenges; elves, orcs, and beastkin; several characters reincarnated from past lives on Earth and dealing with the baggage resulting from that.
More about me; I’m a self-published author, with 7 books in print starting in 2014. My formal education is in biology, but I’ve worked in cultural nonprofit administration for 25+ years. I’m a scrappy quilter, an anime nerd, and I enjoy video games where you don’t need fast reflexes. My Lego addiction is just getting started.
